NASHVILLE, TN– KEPRO announced that the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) has awarded KEPRO the opportunity to provide PASRR Level I Screenings, Level II Evaluations and Determinations, and Resident Reviews to the state of Florida.
KEPRO contracts with AHCA to serve as the Florida Preadmission Services and Resident Review (PASRR) Level I and Level II vendor. For individuals residing in a community setting who do not have access to hospital or nursing home services, KEPRO has been delegated by AHCA to complete onsite PASRR Level I screenings.
“We are thrilled to be providing Level I screenings and resident reviews to help serve the citizens of Florida,” said KEPRO CEO Joel Portice. “KEPRO’s growth in providing services to the intellectual and developmental disabilities population has made a significant impact on the people we serve.”
According to state regulations, Medicaid-certified nursing facilities and hospitals in Florida are delegated to complete PASRR Level I screenings. If the PASRR Level I outcome is positive (indicating a possible serious mental illness, intellectual disability, or a related condition), then a PASRR Level II evaluation and determination must be completed prior to a nursing home admission.
KEPRO’s PASRR program provides protections that align with federal and state laws under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to ensure that anyone with a serious mental illness, intellectual disability, or a related condition is served in the least restrictive setting. KEPRO partners with hospitals and nursing homes throughout the state of Florida to provide Level I screenings, as well as resident reviews when there has been a significant change in a resident’s condition.
