Penny Thompson

Penny Thompson is a proven innovator and leader specializing in U.S. government health policy and operations, working with organizations committed to delivering high quality business solutions for the healthcare market. Thompson serves on multiple corporate boards and advisory committees, and also consults for select clients.
She has held numerous prominent positions leading national action on the Medicaid and Medicare programs. She has served as Chair of the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) and was previously the Deputy Director, Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services, at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Earlier in her career, Thompson was the Director of Program Integrity for CMS.
In addition to her public service, Thompson has held senior management positions at major U.S. technology and consulting firms. She holds a Master of Public Administration degree from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Virginia.
