Executive Vice President & General Manager, HealthTech Systems

Nilay Patel is the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Acentra Health’s HealthTech Systems sector. He has more than 25 years of experience designing, implementing, and operating mission‑critical systems for state and federal agencies. 

The HealthTech Systems portfolio spans implementation, operations, and delivery of large‑scale Health IT systems for federal and state clients. Patel sets cross‑account standards, oversees client escalations, drives adherence to CMMI Level 3 practices, and uses analytics to steer budgets, resources, schedules, and risk mitigation across a diverse engagement landscape. 

Prior to joining Acentra Health, Patel was Vice President for Program/Delivery Management at IBM Watson Health/Truven Health Analytics, where he oversaw statewide deployments and operations for Enterprise Data Warehouses, Program Integrity/Fraud, Waste & Abuse systems, Surveillance Utilization Review (SURS), Master Data Management, T‑MSIS, and public employer solutions—ensuring regulatory alignment and delivery excellence across accounts. 

Earlier, Patel served as Vice President of IT at Xerox, where he directed California’s $190M Design, Development, and Implementation of the Health Enterprise MMIS and Enterprise Data Warehouse and led multi‑state MMIS operations and maintenance, including New Hampshire, Alaska, North Dakota, Montana, and California. He has also held senior leadership and architecture roles at Computer Sciences Corporation, Affiliated Computer Services, Deloitte Consulting, and Consultec/ACS.

Patel graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. He has been a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) since 2009.
